Birthday card photo ideas

Our elegant, super easy greetings cards make any photo look great. Whether you're a pro or a happy snapper, sending a personalised card to someone is always special.

You can use our templates to customise your design and write your own message, or go for a simple, plain photo on the front. Then just write your own message on the inside.

Happy birthday from us
Sometimes people say only a hand written card is truly personal. But how much hassle is that? And how is that more personal than a photo of the, erm, persons? Well, maybe if you painted a portrait, packed it up and posted that...

Send an old photo
I don't know about you, but I preferred my birthdays when they were in single figures. If you're lucky enough to have some old photos available, they always hit the spot :)

In fact, we love old photos so much, we couldn't resist adding another. Maybe you know someone who always complains about their birthday...?

Waaaaah! Screaming birthday kid - happy birthday!

Say it in the photo
When I was a kid I used to make cards for my parents. They would involve coloured paper, glue, glitter and all sorts. I guess I could still do that now... but sending a photo of it would make much more sense. Or I could write a message like this one:

Photo of fridge letters, spelling "happy birthday mum"

But really, you can send *any* photo
It doesn't have to be clever. Maybe you have a photo of a place you've both been, or of something you know they like? For example, I have a friend who just loves cows...

Credit multipacks - the easier and cheaper way to send cards all year

It's even easier when you have credits ready in your account. How many birthday cards should you be sending this year? A single credit is £1.49/ $1.49/ €1.49, but check out the savings on our multipacks... And remember credits can be used on our postcards too...

I removed the automatic

I removed the automatic greeting on thirty Christmas cards...

I am all for automatic fill ins, but only if they are configurable. Otherwise it is a real hassle to change it, especially since your web solution is very slow.

It is!

When you create your card message please try changing the greeting to <blank>. If you do this no greeting is added. We're working on a couple of changes at the moment to really speed up the website.

touchnote cards

Sadly , as much as I think the postcards are great, tthe birthday/greeting cards are not good at all for the following reasons.
Inability to specify the recipient inside the card -for example in the section I wrote Mr J, so the card machine filled in the inside of the card as "dear mr J". I want to be able to send a card to "Grandpa" etc but not write Grandpa for the address.
Secondly one cannot write enough of a greeting message in the card. The middle of the card should allow as much text as a postcard. It should only have 2 text boxes. One for the recipient and allowable to write "hi grandpa" or "Yo grandpa" etc, The second text bow should allow for a decent quantity of text to give the recipient something decent to read.
Finally, It would be so much better to be able to orient photos through 90° if necessary. Loads of my photos are in portrait, some I want to zoom so why the limitation?
At the moment I wouldn't use the card facility again. The postcards are much more successful.

Thanks for the feedback

Hey. We're glad you like our postcards, and are sorry you're not so keen on the greetings cards. But we really appreciate the feedback.

On your first point - you can indeed choose the name on the inside of the card, sorry if it wasn't clear how! When you get the 'check and edit your card' step, you can manually change the name inside.

And thanks for your other points, all taken on board. If you're not 100% happy with your card please email the order number to help@touchnote.com and we'll make it right.
